Can you please check to see that Access for Assistive devices is enabled within Universal Access? This needs to be checked in order for shortcuts and mouse click animations to work.

Also:  There is an issue where it might be necessary for your User to have Admin rights. Please check this under your user settings if you are still having problems after enabling this option.
