Avoiding Frame Skip


If you are concerned with realtime recording (capturing a movie, for example) then you will want to get as close as possible to 24 or 25 frames per second.In this instance, it's a best practice to uncheck the "Slow Capture Rate When Not Moving Mouse" option.

In some instances, iShowU may be skipping frames deliberately by having "Slow Capture Rate When Not Moving Mouse" checked so as to alleviate strain on your machine.  This is helpful when screencasting or creating a video tutorial when there is little or no movement on the screen.  Use the image below as a basic rule of thumb.
